Can this support suspend the precious metals carnage?

Precious metals investors are not exactly celebrating a merry year end 2017. The dollar strength is heavily weighing on both $XAGUSD and $XAUUSD.

Gold might provide a temporary relieve though as the sucker has crashed down to a support. Possibly $XAUUSD can stage a corrective rallye which would carry investors over into 2017 without further damage?

$GBPUSD chart analysis

Look at the break of the massive shelf around 1.5250/1.5375 in GBPUSD. I expect this to be a meaningful change of sentiment for the currency pair. What the heck are the British doing to their money??? Next support zones as marked by the blue lines below current price: S1: ~1.5000/1.5125 S2: ~1.4850/1.4875 Of course I got long within the brokes support around 1.5375 and now I'm in trouble with this one. So I will have to figure out how to reduce the damage.

Positions

Silver Looking back I was naive on this investment. I got carried away by all the positive commentary and doom stories and actually believed that there was no way but up for silver (and gold). Ok, now I have learned. I should be more careful. AUD Ozzy dollars might be overvalued in the moment. But it's the last carry currency left with its neighbor NZD. And since NZD has strengthened against ozzies by about 1000 pips over the last months, I believe that AUD is the better play currently. Gotta go to IKEA, will continue this later...
